We are always on the look out for energetic and enthusiastic potters to join our team here at Tony Sly Pottery. Experience with pottery is non-essential but our team is naturally passionate about the ware we produce and having an understanding of the process behind the scenes is valuable.

Teed Street, Newmarket
Part-time Shop Assistant
29 hours | Wednesday - Saturday | 9.30 - 5pm (weekdays) 4pm (weekends)
We have an upcoming vacancy at our Newmarket, Auckland store starting at the beginning of December 2022. This has a training period of 4 weeks, working 3 days (10am - 2pm) weekly leading up to Christmas, though hours can be increased during this period if need be. We have an annual close down period from the 25th December reopening 9th January. The usual roster of 29 hours will start from this date.
Our Teed Street storefront is an extension of our Raglan Wharf store where we make all of our pottery. We encourage our staff to welcome new and returning customers as if they are welcoming them into their own homes. 
The job requires the ability to manage multiple groups of customers on the shop floor at one time.

Job duties involve:
Assisting customers on the shop floor
Handling and processing stock
Educating customers on our products
Maintaining cleanliness of the store
Communicating daily with our Retail Manager Alice in Raglan
Cash handling and ordering packaging
Making sure communication is clear between staff

Over the busy Christmas period we have two team members on at once. Typically though, throughout the year you will be solely managing the shop with assistance from our Raglan Wharf team.
